Introduction

Welcome to Open at the University of Idaho Library! This Pressbook was created in Summer 2023 to help showcase and promote the wide variety of Open activities undertaken by the University of Idaho Library.

Within this e-book you will find answers to 3 main topics:

  1. What is open, and how do we practice it here at the University of Idaho?
  2. What is course marking, and what can faculty expect?
  3. What are some ways I can integrate more open course materials in my courses with help from the library?

Feel free to move through the different chapters and sections in a way that best fits your needs – you can read straight through or jump to the section of interest.

This e-book was created by Tyler Rodrigues, Student Outreach and Engagement Librarian, and Marco Seiferle-Valencia, Open Education Librarian. It was edited by Marco Seiferle-Valencia and Kelly Omodt – First Year Experience Librarian. Many sections of this book include chapters and content from other open resources on course marking.
