Tetrachords and Modes
- Sing using the numbers written in the score. These numbers indicate pitch classes.
- “W” = whole step, “H” = half step
Here are the tetrachords we will use (for reference):
In the following exercise, sing the pitches and numbers of the first tetrachord, then sing the interval between the last pitch of the first tetrachord and the first pitch of the second tetrachord using the words “whole step” or “half step” as appropriate. Then sing the second tetrachord, starting from 0 as shown.
